Beach Road Holiday Homes
There's been nothing like it...

Architects

The Beach Road Holiday Homes architecture reflects the beauty of Noosa North Shore and the rarity of the site. The developer has invested in design, engaging several architects to create homes that are as individual as the Beach Road location.

Each architect has adopted a similar philosophy of creating sustainable and harmonious homes with an abundance of air, light and space.

The designs incorporate open flowing floor plans and large screened decks for vertical and horizontal circulation, effortlessly capturing the essence of laid-back coastal living. Consideration of additional families and holiday visitors has led to multiple living spaces as well as a flexible range of sleeping accommodation.

The houses on Beach Road have provided us with an opportunity to move people's minds away from urban places and spaces. Residents will interact with a unique natural environment in an informal bushland community. We have chosen natural materials and interconnecting interior and exterior volumes to create an authentic experience for all visitors.

We have sought to create houses that respond directly to climate, topography and regional character. The houses provide shelter, protection, enclosure, security, intimacy and privacy but without isolating the inhabitants from the outside world. The houses are characterised by their centralised decks and large floating roofs. Our house designs are a balance between poetry and pragmatism.

Our intention is to construct an environment for holidaying in the bush. The homes flirt with the bush - structures close up to natural features and occasionally sneaking bushland. Generous decks set amongst the fauna and flora may host a tranquil family breakfast or party. Informal and multifunctional spaces encourage social interaction abandoning the restrictions of work and concrete city life.

Bark Design Architects

Our inspiration was to design houses for memorable holidays that have an inextricable relationship with their site and where boundaries between internal and external spaces are carefully ambiguous. Houses where comfortable outdoor living is celebrated through generously proportioned screened outdoor rooms, where spaces for cooking, eating, living, lounging, sleeping and bathing all exude a contemporary coastal feel for luxury holiday living in the subtropics.

Our designs aspire to understand, embrace and enhance the experience of beach and bush. The idea of the home as a platform to engage with the landscape, and the landscape to engage with the home is central to each design. The designs reflect our understanding of each individual site and all designs are a deconstruction of the square which has been folded, eroded or fragmented into the ultimate holiday home design. Light, shade, air landscape and architecture need to sympathetically and intelligently work together in a way that allows one to engage with this extraordinary environment.

Our Beach Road Holiday Homes are designed for living, gathering and resting on the North Shore. Each site has been carefully studied to identify the specific natural features and attributes that underpin their uniqueness. The designs magnify and mirror these qualities. The homes value an appropriate, humane, regional architecture and respond specifically to the needs and aspirations of a contemporary family. We have sought to create memorable living environments that have a distinct sense of place.
